Our Mission

To build social, racial and economic bridges to connect communities, organizations and people for the enhancement and transformation of all in the East End of Pittsburgh.

Earthen Vessels Outreach serves several communities in the East End of Pittsburgh—Friendship, Garfield, Bloomfield, East Liberty, Lawrenceville, Wilkinsburg, Lincoln-Larimer, Homewood and others within a 3 mile radius. Many children from these neighborhoods are economically, academically and socially disadvantaged. EVO invests daily in the lives of these children to help them become successful, contributing, functioning members of society.

Our Vision

To walk alongside children and families on a long-term basis to help guide them into healthy, functional, mature adults.

The EVO staff lives within the communities they serve, so that they are able to cultivate long-lasting relationships with their youth and their families. The goal is to be available as role models, mentors and advocates for these children. They strive for repeated positive encounters with the same children, resulting in improved performance in academics, life choices and their general outlook on life. The many programs they offer allow them to care for, nurture and provide a support network for the children and their families, thus, creating a “trickle up” effect of strengthening families
