EVO's After-School Program is offered throughout the school year at our activity center. The program will begin its fourth year this fall of 2007. It is a 3-hour daily commitment, Monday through Friday, with a focus on academic support specifically in math, reading, writing and computer skills. We offer state-approved Supplemental Education Services (SES) and Classroom Center Plus facilities. This means that personal educational plans are comprised for each child attending. The school, state, and the home are involved in this process. During the 2006-2007 school year, there are over 20 children involved in this program. Other community resources that have been implemented into this program include a computer lab with 15 working stations, Project Listen (Carnegie Mellon University), software licenses for 'Iknowthat.com' and Wireless Neighborhoods (networking social service agencies of Pittsburgh together). If you would like to have your kid try out this program, do contact Marilyn, the program director. Students interested in an intern position are also encouraged to apply (an application form can be found in our opportunities section). |
