EVO is a recognized 501©3 non-profit through the IRS. Resources of our funding come from three primary sources:

  • Individual donors. These are our largest single source. These donations come to us both directly and through United Way, as a Contributors Choice Organization.
  • Churches. The Episcopal Diocese has been generous in offering their financial support for the last three years. There have been over 10 churches that have also given financial support to support EVO's programs.
  • Participation fees. Summer camp requests $120 for each child who attends the camp. We have about a 90% rate of full payment. The after-school program requests a $10 fee per week for child care.

The Department of Education, through the State of Pennsylvania, offers $500 per child for tutoring to be given to the site of tutoring. This application is circulated at the time of registration. The Supplemental Education Service plan offers $1818.47 fo each child that is tutored 50 hours throughout the year. There are at least 15 children enrolled in this program for the 2005-2006 school year.

Further grants that are in process include the grable Foundation, Heinz Endowment, Pitcairn-Crabbe Foundation, the local banks on Liberty Avenue, Mellon Foundation, Scaiffe Foundation, and others.

EVO is also in the planning stages of a Capitol Campaign Drive for a building fund. We desire to have a multi-purpose building that can be used as a gymnasium/church that would allow for maximum use in meeting hte needs of the community. This building would offer the youth a safe place to hang out and have fun while offering the community a place of worship.
